5/19 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

The showers and t-storms have moved out, but the humidity remains. Tonight will be mild and muggy with the low low chance for a shower. Monday will be hot and humid with a few downpours possible during the afternoon. Tuesday we dry out with a mix of sun and clouds, but the heat will be on. The rest of this week an abnormally strong ridge will build in the southeast and that means it’s going to be hot, humid and sunny. Highs will approach the lower 90s by this weekend and heat index values in the mid to upper 90s at times. It looks like the ridge will start to break down after this next weekend.

TROPICS: A disturbance has a medium chance of development as it moves toward Bermuda. It won’t be an issue for the U.S. but it’s a great reminder Hurricane Season is now less than two weeks away!
