4/21 – Payton’s Sunday Night Forecast

The weather this weekend was some of the nicest we’ve seen in a while…I wish it could last forever. The good news the beginning of the week is looking great. Monday morning will start chilly, but tomorrow afternoon will be sunny and mild with a strong southeast breeze. Tuesday will feature a few more clouds, but will still be dry. Wednesday is expected to be cloudy with a few peaks of sunshine. Thursday our next storm system moves in and rain chances will go up. The overall threat for severe weather looks very low at the moment. It doesn’t appear we will have enough ingredients for severe t-storms. We could see t-storms and heavy rain, but right now it just doesn’t look too concerning. Friday a few downpours linger before we clear out this weekend. Temperatures will be running in the upper 70s to lower 80s each day.

Payton Malone grew up in the small town of Archer City, Texas before moving to Norman, Oklahoma where he attended the University of Oklahoma. During his time at OU he interned as a meteorologist at KOCO in Oklahoma City where he experienced all types of weather ranging from tornadoes, flooding and winter storms. Payton received his Bachelor of Science in Geography and a Minor in Meteorology. Payton's interest in weather began at the very young age of six after a local broadcast meteorologist talked to his class about preparing for severe weather. That along with growing up in the middle of Tornado Alley, Payton has been hooked to the weather ever since. He is excited to move to the Gulf Coast and start a new adventure away from the plains. He loves venturing around the area finding new coffee shops, local places to eat, and he looks forward to being involved in the communities on the Mississippi coast.
