FCC approves C Spire request for WXXV in Diamondhead

Good news for residents in Diamondhead. They can now choose to make WXXV their primary news, sports, and weather station instead of TV markets in New Orleans.

The FCC approved a petition on behalf of C Spire since the city is only about 35 miles from Gulfport compared to New Orleans which is nearly 60 miles away.

This allows Diamondhead to stream WXXV programming as the primary market through the company’s residential fiber program.

C Spire TV is designed to run on streaming devices such as Apple TV or Android TV without having to spend money on a set top box.

Diamondhead is the first city on the Mississippi Gulf Coast to benefit from the service. C Spire Media Relations Senior Manager Dave Miller said, “We can move forward with our plans to start charting up service for the first customers in Diamondhead. We are going to start testing. We started testing late yesterday. We hope to start connecting the first customers by next week or certainly by the end of the month.”

As for the rest of Hancock County and the Gulf Coast, C Spire is doing their best to provide their services to all of South Mississippi.
