A former care facility owner out of Gulfport has been sentenced to eight years behind bars today for crimes committed inside his facility.
Thirty-one year-old Michael Hillie was operating the Precious Care Senior Facility when he took social security benefits of several victims in his care.
He also directed a staff member not to seek medical treatment for a separate victim’s third-degree burns.
A Harrison County judge sentenced Hillie to five years for exploitation of a vulnerable person and three years on one count of abuse of a vulnerable person plus three years’ probation.
He’s also ordered to pay $4,000 in restitution.
