This morning, 38 of the top business leaders in Mississippi’s three coastal counties, along with other member organizations and non-profits, joined at Long Beach city hall for the Leadership Gulf Coast’s monthly meeting.
Each meeting has a different theme and purpose and today was government day. The day started with a discussion about city government led by the Long Beach, Biloxi and Gulfport mayors.
The group continued on to speak with the Harrison County DA,DMR and they all took a special tour of the Gulfport police department.
Michael Malenfant, an associate at Balch and Bingham in Gulfport says being part of leadership gulf coast gives him the opportunity to learn about things going on in the community he would not be aware of.
“We kind of see different aspects of the coast that we may not know about so we have gotten to see the military presence, we are learning about education health care. It’s neat to learn what’s going on with Gulfport in particular. I am a Gulfport native so it is cool to hear about what is going on with the Markham building, with Centennial plaza and all these projects they are working on.”
