Harrison Central softball had one of its own put pen to paper to play at the next level this afternoon.
Zharia Richardson signed her national letter of intent with East Central Community College on the brink of her senior season with the Red Rebelettes.
In 2018, Richardson hit .463 to go along with two home runs and 28 RBI. The corner infielder is the third player from Harrison Central’s class of 2019 to make her college commitment and she’s doing so with a great deal of pride. “It’s like really exciting because like knowing where I came from and how I grew up, not that thinking that softball was going to actually be my number one sport and stuff like that, seeing myself do like good at it. Makes me feel accomplished.”
Among her other accomplishments, Richardson was part of back-to-back state championship teams in 2015 and 2016.
