Pass Christian Sophomore Pitching Queen Bristol Jones earns 500th career strikeout

The coast’s got a lot to say when it comes to high school softball, especially when it comes to  performance in the circle. In her game Friday night, Pass Christian right-handed pitcher Bristol Jones threw her 500th career strikeout as just a sophomore.

Even more impressive than that, she isn’t just leading the gulf coast, but the entire state when it comes to strikeouts this season. As a 10th grader, Jones is 10th in the entire nation with 266 batters struck out just this year alone.

The sophomore sensation can sling it like nobody’s business, and she’s also mature beyond her years. In the varsity circle, Jones is calling the shots and pitches, leading the Pirates to success, but she’d never take the credit.

She’s not just a dream pitcher, but also the dream teammate as she gives her defense and their bats all the praise. Jones and the rest of the Lady Pirates have their eyes set on the post season as they just won game one of the playoffs with a big 10-0 win over Lawrence County. They’ll look to punch their ticket to the next round on Saturday with a 3:00pm first pitch.
