High pressure will move into the area today with sunny conditions and temperatures in the lower 60s. A few…mostly weak systems passing north of our region through the weekend will bring periods of clouds and chances of a few showers as these waves move north of the area. Temperatures will be in the 60s and 70s through this period, with no real organized rainfall expected through the weekend.
Going into early next week guidance still suggests a major rain event for the southern United States.
With a system poised to affect the area/region early next week, models suggest multiple inches of rain falling over the area and more extreme totals over central Alabama and northern Georgia. This will need to be watched as the event draws closer. This could change and will change before then…but this particular setup looks like a major rain event for someone in the southeast if this pans out like the models suggest.
