2019 Hemingway Festival

A two-day event in Waveland honored both a famous author and a local cause.

The third-annual ‘Hemingway Festival’ ran from Friday to Saturday and featured fun events such as an Ernest Hemingway look-a-like contest, an art auction, and a parade down Coleman Avenue.

‘Hemingway in Paris’ was the theme for the event as recognition for one of the locations Hemingway lived during his life.

One of the main goals of the festival is to benefit the ‘Ground Zero Hurricane Museum’ and Waveland’s Coleman Avenue. ‘Hemingway Festival’ Organizer Starr Chapman said, “What we wanted to do was bring people back to Coleman Avenue, bring the life, the laughter, the fun for Waveland and Coleman Avenue back.”
