2018 ‘Guns & Hoses’ Pickleball tournament

Calling all first responders past and present: who’s up for a quick game of pickleball?

Registration is officially open for the 2018 ‘Guns and Hoses’ pickleball tournament which will feature the police, firemen, and EMT paramedics of the Gulf Coast all battling it out on the court for the charities of their choice. The tournament is set to take place at the Popps Ferry pickleball courts Saturday, October 13th.

Anyone interested needs to get their registration form in as soon as possible. Event organizer Tom Linenberger said, “We’re trying to recruit about 96 first responders for tournament players and if we don’t get enough we’re gonna have pickleball players that will also play with them and pledge what they want to play on, be it firefighters or police responders. We’re also going to have some special Olympic athletes that are going to compete in the tournament as well.”

You can find the registration form on the City of Biloxi’s website. If you want to know more about the tournament or pickleball lessons call parks and rec at 228-388-7170.
