2 people escape house fire in Harrison County over the weekend

At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, two people escaped a structure fire in west Harrison County.

Eight trucks and 20 firefighters from Harrison County Fire Rescue with additional help from the Combat Readiness Training Center and Diamondhead Fire Departments responded to the scene.

According to Fire Chief Pat Sullivan, after about 45 minutes, the fire was brought under control and kept to only the garage and one end of the trailer.

The two people were alseep in the trailer when the fire was discovered. There were no reported injuries, however, a pet died in the fire.

The cause has been reported as accidental.
