2/26 – Rob’s “Continued Warm/Humid” Friday Morning Forecast

The warm and humid flow will continue through the final weekend of the month as temperatures will continue to run 8-10 degrees above normal. A stationary front to the north will be the focal point for rain through the weekend as the moisture flow will keep the heavy rainfall north of the Hattiesburg area. The area could see an isolated shower or two today through Sunday with daytime temps maxing out in the low/mid 70s. Overnight fog will continue to be problematic through the weekend and into the 1st week of March.

The system north will begin to see some upper-level push Sunday night as a trough of low-pressure ejects out of the desert SW and rides east along the boundary. Early next week could bring the potential of pockets of heavy rain…1-2″ accumulation will be possible early next week through the region. This threat should be along the N’tern portion of the Gulf Coast states with south Mississippi seeing elevated rain potential.
