13th Annual Biloxi First Roast

Tonight at the 13th annual Biloxi First Roast, John P. ‘Shorty’ Sneed will be roasted in the name of raising money for the Biloxi school systems.
It is also the official fundraiser that Biloxi First has each year. This roast has been held for the last 13 years to raise money for special projects in Biloxi schools. Ideas that teachers may have are brought to life through the money raised at this event.
The money comes from those who purchase tickets to the dinner and they will raise approximately $40,000 each year at this roast alone. “This annual roast we do to raise money. We select a sort of local celebrity. This year it’s ‘Shorty’ Sneed. We roast him. We have some of his friends come and their typically local celebrities as well. We have a lot of fun. Just kinda good natured fun, just roasting Shorty this year,”said Jeff Bankston, president of Biloxi First.
It is a night full of great stories and lots of laughs but more importantly it is for a great cause.
