12/8 – Jeff’s “Warmth Continues” Thursday Afternoon Forecast

Clouds will clear through the afternoon. A few clouds to partly cloudy skies can be expected. Temperatures will be well-above seasonal yet again. After sunset, temperatures will fall into the 60s. Unfortunately, dense fog is primed to set up again. Friday morning’s commute will be another disruptive one.

Once fog lifts Friday, a few clouds can be expected through the remainder of the day. The warm and humid airmass will remain for the rest of the week, and into the weekend. Changes are ahead in the pattern, though. A system will make its way into our area during the weekend. Increasing clouds and a  20% chance of rain are expected during the second half of Saturday.

The system will move in Sunday. There is a 60% chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. The unsettled pattern will remain into the start of the next week. Our attention will then turn to another frontal system coming out of the Rockies. Keeping in mind that we are about 5 days out from this affecting South Mississippi, there is growing concern of severity in thunderstorm activity associated with the system.
