12/8 – Jeff Vorick’s “Widespread Dense Fog” Thursday Morning Forecast

Widespread dense fog is in the area this morning. Once fog dissipates, temperatures will warm to near-record levels again. A few clouds to partly cloudy skies can be expected this afternoon.

Patchy fog will be around Friday morning. However, it does not look to be as widespread of an event as this morning. A cold front will approach the area from the northwest. There is not a significant enough of a cold airmass to push it deep into Mississippi. Also, its moisture will fade throughout the day tomorrow and it will not affect our area.

The warm and humid pattern will continue into this weekend. The high pressure near our area will begin to weaken some.  A frontal system to our west will work in this weekend. Cloud coverage increases Saturday with a 20% chance of rain late in the day. Sunday will be when the system approaches our area. Showers and thunderstorms will become more widespread to end the weekend. The pattern will become more active to start the next work week.
