12/24 – Payton’s Christmas Eve Afternoon Forecast
An absolutely beautiful day with cool temperatures and plenty of sunshine…this continues into the evening. Tonight clouds will begin to move in, but it’s expected to remain dry. By Christmas Day on Tuesday the weather will start to transition to warmer and more cloudy. There could be one or two showers Christmas Day too. Wednesday will be similar to Tuesday with a chance for showers, but most will be dry. Thursday will be stormy with showers and a few thunderstorms likely as a strong storm system moves through. It’s possible we could see one or two strong to severe thunderstorms. Friday will be cloudy with a few showers as the cold front lingers in the area. Into Saturday not much changes as the cold front lifts to the north as a warm front. This means clouds and showers will stick around on Saturday. By Sunday, not much change with clouds and showers likely once again. With rain totals from Thursday through Sunday…it’s possible we see 3-5 inches of rainfall. This means rivers could eventually start to rise going into the weekend and next week. Something we’ll have to watch.
