12/23 – Rob Knight’s Christmas Week Forecast

It may take several hours, but skies should show some breaks in cloud cover from west to east today. Although, the eastern half of the area may stay locked in most if not all day. But the rain showers will be moving east today as the upper low departs. There is plenty of moisture from rainfall in the boundary layer, so there is a chance that those locations that can become mostly cloudy free overnight could get some form of fog but this will be highly dependent on skies clearing.

High pressure will settle into the area through most of the week. A new front will make its way toward the area by the end of the week. This system should induce a warm front that may move through the area over the weekend while the cold front moves through by the start of next week. There are a lot questions mainly about timing of this system but there is plenty of time to put the pieces of the puzzle together over the coming days.
