12/22 – Jeff Vorick’s “Rain Ahead” Friday Evening Forecast

A stunning day will be capped off by a mild evening and overnight with upper-level clouds streaming in. Temperatures will mostly be in the 50s out the door for your Saturday. Other than occasional bouts of cloud cover, tomorrow will be another stunning day with temperatures reaching the 70-degree mark for a lot of you. It will be breezy at times for the afternoon but get out and enjoy the day.

Christmas Eve will bring less than ideal conditions. A dynamic frontal system will be moving into the area for the end of the long weekend bringing with it rounds of rain and embedded rumbles of thunder. A shield of rain will overspread the area as soon as Sunday morning, and last through portions of the day.

The best confidence in soaking rain will be Sunday afternoon through early Christmas morning. Some breaks in the action are possible but expect the possibility of flooding rain. Some areas could see street flooding so be sure to take extra care when driving to your destination. Rain will gradually come to an end Christmas Day and colder temperatures take hold next week.
