12/20 – Jeff’s “Gloomy & Breezy” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

A dreary and cold day will continue across South Mississippi. Rain chances will diminish throughout the afternoon. There is a 40% chance of rain between now and sundown.

Breezy conditions will continue from now and through tonight. Temperatures won’t tumble overnight with low-to-mid 40s expected at daybreak tomorrow. Cloud coverage will remain in place through Wednesday.

Thursday will be reasonably warm ahead of our next cold front. Some breaks in the clouds will also be present ahead of the Arctic cold front. There is a 40% chance of showers with its passage. The cold front will make it through our area Thursday evening.

The air associated with this front will be an Arctic blast. Strong winds will be present beginning Thursday night and carrying into the holiday weekend. Morning lows will be in the low-20s with wind chills in the single-digits! Hard freeze warnings and wind chill alerts will be needed. Also, the wind alone will be hazardous. Travel will be disruptive for higher-profile vehicles and power outages are a possibility.
