12/2 – Jeff Vorick’s “Warm-Up Inbound” Friday Morning Forecast

Temperatures are cold again this morning. However, changes are on the way in our pattern. High pressure will scoot to the east. This will provide for return flow off of the Gulf of Mexico to increase moisture. High temperatures will reach 70 degrees this afternoon under increasing cloud cover this afternoon.

The warm and moist airmass settles in tonight ahead of our next weather maker. It will be mostly cloudy to overcast tonight and temperatures won’t tumble. Fog will be present in areas tomorrow morning. Rain chances will increase across South Mississippi during the morning hours with drizzle or light rain in the picture by midday.

The rainfall from this frontal system will primarily be on the light side. The potential is there for an isolated embedded thunderstorm Saturday afternoon. The cold front will pass through the area Sunday morning. With its passage, there is a chance of showers in the morning. Some clearing can be expected Sunday into Monday.

The airmass will not have any profound changes other than dry time. Temperatures will be above seasonal during the next workweek and another frontal system could be in play mid-week.
