12/16 Ryan’s “Severe Weather” Monday Night Forecast
Update: Still waiting on main line of storms to arrive, and it appears to be weakening. Will continue to monitor and update as needed.
A cold front is moving in and it will increase our chances of seeing severe weather later tonight. South MS currently has a “slight” risk for severe weather, but “enhanced” is just to the northwest. Several strong, long-track tornadoes have occurred with this system already. Regardless of whether severe weather happens or not, and severe parameters do seem to be trending downwards, a few inches of rain are likely.
DARK CLOUDS AND SHOWERS WILL LINGER INTO THE MORNING HOURS, BUT EXPECT SLOW CLEARING INTO TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY.
Skies will be sunny by then, but highs will have fallen into the mid 50s. We’ll enjoy a few sunny and cool afternoons with cold nights near freezing, but be back in the 60s by Saturday. Feels odd to be warming so significantly on the first day of winter, but this is South MS….
