12/13 – Jeff’s “Severe Threat” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast

The beginning of the pattern change is underway across South Mississippi. Winds have increased and it will continue to be a breezy afternoon. A warm front associated with the frontal system we have been tracking will make it through our area by this evening. A 50% chance of scattered thunderstorms is possible overnight.

The stage is set for severe thunderstorms tomorrow. Showers and thunderstorms will be scattered to numerous from daybreak until the afternoon. Flash flooding, damaging wind gusts, and tornadic activity are all in play for Wednesday. When the cold front approaches, a line of thunderstorms will work through the area during the afternoon and evening hours.

Once the cold front clears the area, temperatures will be much colder behind it. The conditions will return to seasonal to close out the week.
