11/22 – The Chief’s “Looking/Feeling Like The Holidays” Wednesday Morning Forecast
The cold front moved out over the gulf yesterday and cool air has been slowly filtering in behind it. This will continue today keeping high temps well into the lower 60s. High temps will struggle each day through Friday to reach the 60s as well. The area will be bisected with respect to cloud cover today. The northern half should be partly cloudy to clear while the southern half should see the sun a bit more today but this is where the most cloud cover should remain for land areas with the most overcast skies remaining over the gulf. Don’t get too familiar with the bonfire in the sky as overcast skies will invade the area once again tonight into early Thursday. Thanksgiving Day will be mainly overcast and cool with some showers moving in from the SW late in the day. Most of the showers with this system should move through Thu night with only a few lingering showers around for Friday.
A Gulf low will develop and move NNE as this same scenario will play out several more times as the overall pattern propagates. The first of these systems will affect the region Thanksgiving Day with the next comes in Sunday into Monday, as this surface low could be a bit closer to the coast following the strongest thermal gradient east. There could be more widespread rainfall with it but should not be on the heavy side. The one after that should be Tuesday into Wednesday, but this one looks to be well south of the coast but strong with possible gales over the central gulf.
