10/8 – Rob Knight’s Thursday Mid-Morning “Hurricane Delta” Update

Hurricane Delta along the west/central Gulf of Mexico should start making its turn today to head more northward causing conditions to become worse with time mainly during the day Friday and mainly along and west of the Mississippi River. Delta is expected to move inland Friday late afternoon/evening as a strong hurricane over SW LA. Tropical storm conditions should remain west of our area with minor effects felt in south Mississippi through early Saturday. Conditions will slowly improve through the remainder of the day Saturday. Delta is expected to weaken to a tropical storm by late Saturday as it moves through northeast LA. A cold front is then expected to move through the area Tuesday or Wed.
