10/5 – Payton’s Friday Afternoon Forecast

We continue to see mostly sunny skies, but more clouds will develop this afternoon with daytime heating. The chance of rain today is very very low, but it’s not impossible to get one or two little thunderstorms. Going into the weekend a little more activity is expected as more moisture moves back into the area and high pressure shifts off to the east. It won’t be a washout though. Beyond that our attention this weekend and going into next week will be on a the tropics. There is a disturbance in the Caribbean we’ve been watching for the past couple days.

The NHC gives it a medium chance of development over the next five days as it moves toward the Gulf of Mexico.

Most models do agree on bringing the disturbance into the Gulf, which would possibly bring us more moisture next week. However, there is still a tremendous amount of uncertainty with this forecast. We really won’t be able to discuss the track, intensity and impacts until the beginning of next week. For now we just wait and see what it does over the weekend. Have a great weekend and enjoy the nice hot weather and Cruisin’ The Coast!
