10/27 Ryan’s “Zeta” Tuesday Evening Forecast

We’re a little over 24 hours away from the first significant impacts of Hurricane Zeta moving inland. Landfall is expected near Grand Isle, with the worst of the storm moving into South MS by 9-10 PM.

At its strongest, it isn’t out of the question to see winds nearing 90 mph on the coastline.

Otherwise, winds will average closer to 50 mph as the storm moves in, then away from South MS. For tonight, expect a cloudy one with a warmer low near 75 and increasing rain chances. Tomorrow’s high will actually be slightly below average at 79, but weather conditions will rapidly deteriorate in the late afternoon.

Basically, we’re looking at a window of about 6 hours, from 7 PM tomorrow until about 1 AM Thursday, when the strongest effects of this storm will be felt.

There’s still some uncertainty as to the storm’s strength, so we’ll continue to monitor ahead of tomorrow’s landfall.
