10/21 – Rob Knight’s “Isolated Showers/T-Storms” Afternoon Forecast

A shallow cold front continues to move SE through the region. Sufficient moisture in place with enough instability to support showers and a few thunderstorms will continue this afternoon into this evening. A secondary reinforcement of the upper support will try to extend southward on Friday. As the front pushes south, models hint that lower dew-points will sag in from the northeast late in the day.

For the long term forecast, there is a high amount of uncertainty heading into next week. Max and min temps are still above the climatological normal, with max temperatures expected in the low/mid-80s, with overnight lows in the upper 60s.
