10/2 – Brittany’s “Wonderful Start of October” Sunday Night Forecast
As high pressure sneaks into the area on the backside of a cut off low over the northeast, heights rise slightly which means slightly warmer temps tonight. By slightly, we really just mean in the lower to mid 50s inland and upper 50s to lower 60s in southern areas. Similar synoptic conditions continue through the short term with northerly winds shifting more northeasterly as a previous surface boundary dissipates and moves south. High temps tomorrow will be in the mid 80s with lows Mon night a few degrees warmer than tonight. A weak jet streak will come through tomorrow which will at least bring in some additional cirrus clouds but nothing more should come out of it.
Tuesday through Saturday night, the upper low continues to weaken and move off to the northeast with the previously mentioned upper riding continuing to settle over the region through the work week. Tue into Wed, the low will push a trough through the region but it looks like at most, we`ll see a mid level cloud deck and maybe some showers over the outer waters. Nearly zonal flow aloft returns for the end of the week which will start a slight warming trend with highs back into the mid to upper 80s. A weak upper trough then brings a weak cold front Friday into Saturday. It doesn`t look like it will produce any rain with how dry it has been what we`ll see as we get closer.
