10/15 – Payton’s Monday Afternoon Forecast

Onshore flow will continue to steadily raise the moisture content heading into this afternoon. A cold front currently moving through the northern Mississippi will begin to affect the area later this afternoon with showers/t-storms. The boundary will clear the area Tuesday morning but the weather associated with it will continue through Wednesday morning before clearing.

Temperatures will be tricky due to intermittent nature of rainfall next couple of days.  Wednesday and Thursday should be essentially dry with high-pressure centered over the eastern half of the U.S. This air mass modifies while moving east late Thursday. A few models are showing a gulf low developing along the Texas coast Friday and moving NE ahead of another advancing cold front. This front should be rather strong with forcing generating widespread pre-frontal showers/t-storms for the beginning of the weekend.
