10/14 – Rob Knight’s “Columbus Day” Morning Forecast

A warm front will become activated later today but will take all day to move north of the area. The entire area will be back in the warm muggy conditions by this evening. The next cold front is expected Tuesday into Wednesday with elevated rain potential.

There is a chance for a few thunderstorms to become strong and bring heavy rain mainly during the day Tuesday.

This front will stall over the northern gulf Wed while a deep tropical moisture fetch will begin to move northward over the western gulf from Wed through the end of the week. Models are all over the place on trying to develop a surface low with this. An even stronger cold front is advertised to move through the area as well as the entire gulf, clearing things out rapidly by the start of next week.
