10/10 – The Chief’s “Chilly Start” Monday Morning Forecast
High pressure to our north will control the area’s weather today and most of Tuesday. It will be breezy at times with highs in the low 80s today. Expect a cool night tonight with overnight lows dipping into the 50s Tuesday morning. It will get back to the low 80s tomorrow afternoon with clear skies in the morning turning to partly cloudy by the evening.
Humidity will creep up later Tuesday and that will provide an increase in cloud coverage. By Tuesday night, a more humid airmass is in the area. Temperatures will only fall into the 60s overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. With increased moisture ahead of a storm system, tropical moisture from the Caribbean being transported, and some instability will bring thunderstorm chances. Some rain chances are possible in the morning but the heating of the day will find the peak of the storms with a 70% chance of rain. By late Wednesday evening, rain diminishes and we see one more night with warmer morning lows.
A cold front moves through the area Thursday morning. The frontal passage will give us breezy conditions Thursday and Friday. A potent cool-down will happen with morning lows in the 40s and 50s, and afternoon highs only managing mid to upper 70s Friday and Saturday.
