10/10 – Jeff’s “Windy & Dreary Tomorrow” Tuesday Night Forecast

Cloudy skies will prevail tonight and rain chances will begin to come into play after 2 AM. Light southerly winds will remain in place until the morning and temperatures will be slightly warmer overnight. Tomorrow will be a busy day weather-wise along the Mississippi Coast with an area of low pressure moving through the Gulf.

Rain will begin to fill the area through the morning. Winds will also start to elevate through the day, too. A Wind Advisory along and south of I-10 will be in effect from 1 PM tomorrow through 6 AM Thursday. Winds will be sustained 15 – 25 MPH and gust over 30 MPH at times. Due to winds being out of the east, southern Hancock County will be under a Coastal Flood Warning from tomorrow evening through Thursday afternoon.

On the water, a Gale Warning will be in effect from 10 AM tomorrow through 6 AM Thursday. Rain will be in the area through the entire day tomorrow with occasional breaks. Widespread rain will come to an end Wednesday night into Thursday. For Thursday, relaxing winds, some clearing skies, and rain chances of only 20% or so can be expected.

As we head towards the weekend, another cold front will be moving in. Also, a piece of energy in the Gulf of Mexico will work in and provide for thunderstorm chances Friday ahead of the aforementioned front. Expect clearing skies and cooler conditions by this weekend and a stretch of cooler temperatures to persist into next week.
