1/12 – Jeff Vorick’s “Temperatures Plumetting” Friday Evening Forecast
After a relatively nice and warm day, colder air works in which will tank temperatures very quickly overnight. Freezing temperatures are very much in play for everyone north of the interstate tomorrow morning and possible for the beachfront. Saturday will be a nice day with cool, but tolerable temperatures and light winds.
Sunday brings more wind into play ahead of a frontal system that makes its way to the Mississippi Coast. Rain chances are around for Monday with no thunderstorms expected. Here’s where the forecast gets tricky: cold air may rush in before moisture departs. This may lead to the possibility of a wintry mix Monday night. More details need to be fine-tuned but it is NOT looking like any icing concerns will be in the table.
As we push towards next week, stick with your Weather Authority team to stay up to date on the cold. VERY COLD temperatures arrive next week with frigid one Tuesday, and DANGEROUSLY COLD temperatures Wednesday morning. Temperatures will be in the TEENS and wind chills will be in the single digits. Take ALL necessary precautions to protect outdoor pipes, bring in animals, bring in plants, and check on neighbors.
