09/28 – Brantly’s “Muggy with a Chance of Rain” Tuesday Morning Forecast
[videoembed][/videoembed] Our brief period of pleasant weather comes to an end for much of the area as we head into Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain chances today move up to about 50 percent for much of the Mississippi Coast, with areas in Southeast Louisiana seeing up to a 70 percent chance. Otherwise it will be partly to mostly cloudy, warm and humid. A few strong storms are possible as there will be plenty of instability in place on Tuesday afternoon with dry air noted in the mid- levels in some of the forecast models.
The main concern with any stronger storms is the potential for gusty winds. Heading into Wednesday, similar conditions are expected with a 40 to 50 percent chance of rain, but with storm coverage being slightly more scattered. The main time frame for any shower or thunderstorm activity will be mainly afternoon through the early evening.
Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will top out in the mid to upper 80s across much of the area while a few communities across south central Alabama may manage to hit 90, especially by Wednesday. Unfortunately, the mugginess will make its unwanted return as dewpoints surge back into the low 70s across the coastal counties.
