09/18 Ryan’s “Misty Start” Wednesday Morning Forecast

We saw more patchy fog/misty air this morning, with at least a few more showers left in the afternoon before things start to clear up.

It was slightly cooler this morning, and while the humidity did drop some it didn’t drop enough to keep us from enjoying another misty morning across South MS. Like yesterday, a few areas likely inched into “patchy fog” territory, though those areas were likely more the exception than the rule.

Skies were much more clear this morning than they have been for the last few days, but I don’t expect we’re done with the rain just yet. Far fewer, but at least a couple of showers will pop up this afternoon in the heat of the day, but drier air and higher pressure will dominate the skies for the next several days, taking us well into next week before another chance of rain pops up. In fact, I don’t believe I have above a 20% chance until next Thursday! All that sun will bump temperatures up a bit though, so don’t expect more of our recent afternoon highs, still expected to linger just below our “normal” for mid-September of 88. Thankfully it won’t be much hotter though, high only climbing up to 90 Friday afternoon before starting to inch down.

That’s enough to remind us it’s still summer for at least a few more days, and that we don’t just flip a switch and fall arrives…sometimes it takes a bit to filter into South MS.
