08/11 – Brantly’s “Hot with Afternoon Storms” Tuesday Forecast

It’s hazy, hot and humid along the Gulf Coast. High temperatures will likely top out in the mid 90s, but it will feel like it’s between 100 and 108 degrees. Scattered showers and thunderstorms may help cool things down in the afternoon for areas that are lucky enough to receive some rain. Rain chances are at about 40 percent through the evening.

Tomorrow, we’ll keep the heat and humidity, but less sunshine can be expected. Shower and thunderstorm coverage will increase with rain chances up to around 60 percent. Similar conditions are expected through Friday.

In the tropics, we are watching one area of interest over the central Atlantic that has a high chance, 90%, of becoming a tropical depression or tropical storm within the next 48 hours. It is not an immediate threat to the United States, but we will continue to track the system over the coming days. The next name on the list is Josephine.
