06/06 Ryan’s “Clearing Soon” Tuesday Forecast

Skies will begin clearing soon, but expect showers to continue through the night and into the early morning before anything significant. The low pressure center has moved just to the Southeast, and is now causing wrap-around, northerly winds. As this pressure center continues eastward we’ll see a few more scattered showers, but the stronger storms are all done. We did see some interesting weather today though. A slow moving shower dropped likely over 3.5″ of rain in about an hour in downtown Biloxi, causing localized flooding on Hwy 90. This same system caused a waterspout just South of Deer Island, but it dissipated quickly and did not move on land.

Tomorrow will begin mostly cloudy, but will have cleared to sunny by the end of the day. More sun generally means higher temperatures, and I expect us to climb as high as 87 on Wednesday. The high pressure remains until Saturday, when it will begin moving far enough East to bring Southern “return flow.” Clouds and rain return as we head into next week, so enjoy the sun for the next few days!
