05/19 Ryan’s “Hot & Humid” Tuesday Afternoon Forecast
Not much hotter today, but still much more humid than normal as we head into Tuesday.
Temperatures didn’t change much today, but it may feel that way thanks to it being so humid in South Mississippi. Dewpoints are lingering in the mid 70s today, rapidly approaching “muggy” territory more common to summer. It’s acting a bit like summer in other ways as well, with short-lived afternoon pop-up showers possible again like we saw yesterday. Not much ended up falling, but at least a couple of cities reported “trace” amounts of rainfall. I expect today will be a little little drier than yesterday was, but tomorrow will be a little wetter. All in all, we’ll still have to wait until the end of the week and weekend for anything more consistent than a couple random showers.
For today, expect a high near 86 with high humidity, leading to a heat index in the low 90s. Winds remain fairly light and southeasterly between 10-15 mph. Any sprinkles will dry up overnight, but it will remain humid and warm for tomorrow morning as well.
