05/08 Ryan’s “More Storms” Friday Morning Forecast

Expect more storms this afternoon as our rainy period continues into the weekend.

Things have been quiet so far, but more storms are expected as we head through the afternoon and into the evening. These storms carry a low-end risk of severe weather, with small-scale flooding being the primary concern. Damaging winds, hail, and even a couple of tornadoes aren’t out of the question, but the risk of tornadoes especially remains low. Still, as we often say even when chances are low, it’s always best to be safe than sorry so be sure to have a way to get warnings and remain “weather aware” through the afternoon and evening. The greatest risk of a strong-to-severe storm developing is between the hours of 3 to 7 PM, dropping off after the sun sets. Stay tuned for updates on WXXV NBC/FOX and social media should warnings be issued.

Temperature-wise things will cool off a bit, as the high falls to near 76 degrees with cloudy skies and scattered showers and storms. We’ll start warming back up again after this morning’s cooler start, low climbing to near 69 with spotty showers.
