05/01 Ryan’s “Consistent” Wednesday Forecast

South MS weather has been very consistent since I returned from vacation on Monday. It has been warm and getting progressively warmer, more humid, and cloudy each day. This will largely continue due to pronounced ridging over the Caribbean, enhancing southeasterly flow.

Weak impulses will move through the stream and keep cloud cover in the area, but significant rainfall isn’t expected until Saturday afternoon.

That’s when a slow moving frontal system will finally move into the area, but it’s already stalling and breaking down as it does. We still don’t yet have an official severe designation from the SPC, but “marginal” would be the worst I expect we’ll see due to the disorganization of the storms. Skies clear some after, but conditions will still be warmer and more humid than average.
