01/13 Ryan’s “Frosty” Tuesday Morning Forecast
It was quite frosty this morning thanks to clear skies and calm winds, but we're in for a sharp warm-up over the next 24 hours.
We hit the bottom of the temperature barrel we’ll see with this cold front with this morning’s frosty weather, but things will warm sharply over the next 24 hours. Fans of cold weather shouldn’t fret too much though, because after a quick round of a few showers things will cool even more sharply as we wrap up the week. This morning fell into the upper 20s in Gulfport, a few degrees cooler than expected due to underestimating the radiational cooling we’d see overnight. It starts warming from here for a short time, climbing into the upper 50s/low 60s from yesterday’s mid 50s. Overnight we’ll see much more noticeable warming as we jump from freezing into the chilly mid 40s, with an even warmer Thursday afternoon ahead. That’s due to a broad low pressure area and a front racing through the area Wednesday, leading to a 15-20° drop by Thursday morning.
