01/05 Ryan’s “Morning Clouds” Tuesday Night Forecast

Beautiful day today after a sneaky front cleared our skies this morning, but by morning clouds will return. Those clouds arrive just soon enough to keep us out of the 30s, keeping the low near 41 on the coast with upper 30s inland.

Cloud coverage will being thin and light to start the day, but will build steadily throughout.

Expect overcast skies by nightfall and rain to begin moving in shortly after midnight. This event isn’t looking very significant, but could include a thunderstorm and a few gusting winds along with moderate showers. All of this activity will be gone by the late morning, and cooler, drier air will rush in behind.

That’ll usher in a long period of frigid nights and cool afternoons starting this weekend.

The most notable event on the horizon though is Sunday night/Monday morning, when another front moves in while these conditions linger. That means if a few things go the right way, a likely nasty wintry mix could be on the way. Stay tuned.
