WXXV Pet of the Day: Spotlighting pets at local animal shelters
Today News 25 is spotlighting two dogs: one from the Jackson County Animal Shelter and one from the Humane Society of South Mississippi.
Jizell is from the Jackson County Animal Shelter and Cleopatra comes from HSSM.
Jizell is a Shepard mix, about one-and-a-half years old. She’s good with dogs, kids, and doesn’t mind cats. She is spayed and knows how to sit, shake, and lie down for treats. She is $25 and comes with a free microchip.
Cleopatra was found in HSSM’s parking lot, potentially dumped by her owners or someone who found her. She is hoping that you hold the golden ticket to her freedom. Cleopatra is sweet and energetic. She is playful and sits for treats. We would not recommend her for a home with senior pets or cats, but we do think she’d make a great companion for an active and adventurous family. She’s around a year old, 36 pounds, already been spayed and is heartworm negative.
HSSM is still hosting an ‘empty the shelter’ adoption special now through April 1st hours 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adoption fees range from $7 to $25.
