Wreck on Highway 49 Backs up Traffic in Gulfport

A two vehicle accident on Highway 49, just south of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, had a part of the highway down to one lane this morning.
Gulfport police tell News 25, a little after 10 they received a call of an accident where a GMC pickup traveling westbound to Madison Avenue failed to yield. A GMC Acadia traveling northbound struck the vehicle in its side. Other than scrapes and bruises, there were no serious injuries.
Traffic was backed up for a little over an hour as crews cleared the scene.
