Wounded Warrior Fishing Tournament in Gautier

Wounded Warriors and boat captains will meet in Gautier to kick-off the Wounded Warrior Fishing Tournament.

The three-day fishing tournament gives soldiers dealing with mental disorders and physical injuries a chance to get out and enjoy the outdoors.

The Wounded Warrior Project gives veterans a way to transition back to civilian life with a community to be a part of.

Thanks to donations and partnerships, the fishing tournament is free to Warriors. Sgt. Major Eric Bowers said, “When the community is involved the service members are more open to be able to relate and help with the transition. One of the missions, our motto with the Wounded Warriors Project, is the worst thing that could happen is to be forgotten. So, we don’t want anybody to be forgotten.”

The tournament will take place at Indian Point Resort in Gautier all weekend.
