$6 million grant awarded to Port Bienville project in Hancock County
HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. (WXXV)- Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith announced a $6 million grant to construct an intermodal facility at Port Bienville in Hancock County.
The Port Infrastructure Development Program will allow the Hancock County Port and Harbor Commission to move forward with the construction of its site four project.
That includes a 50,000 square foot weather-protected transit warehouse located between the barge slip and the Port Bienville Railroad.
This project is expected to reduce railcar dwell time by 30 percent, eliminating about 4,500 annual truck drayage trips and lower handling costs for regional manufacturers.
