Woolmarket Library opening delayed

The new location for the Woolmarket Library was set to reopen this morning in Biloxi.

However, after a few speed bumps with the building, they have decided to delay the re-opening of the branch. The move from the small trailer to the new library on Kayleigh Cove Drive was a project led by the city and Harrison County to allow the library more space to accommodate its growing collection and enhanced services and programs.

The new location will be a two thousand square foot space that will allow the branch to increase its children’s collection and provide a more comfortable area to read or use computers. Biloxi Libraries Head Librarian Sharon Davis said, “Unfortunately, we ended up having some unexpected building issues. We were really trying hard to get open as soon as possible, but it just wasn’t going to happen, but all of our other libraries are still open for library services. We have eight others in the county and there are no fines charged. Don’t worry if you have something checked out you are not going to be charged a late fee for it.”

There is no set date of when the Woolmarket branch will open its doors. News 25 will continue to update you as they set a date.
