Wiggins man is first big winner of the Mississippi Lottery
A local man is bagging the big bucks just one day after scratch-off ticket sales began in the state of Mississippi.
65-year-old David Bond of Wiggins is the state’s first big winner!
Bond was at the Junior Food Mart in Wiggins buying some supplies before going deer hunting when he bought five $2 tickets, all “Triple 7’s,” to try his luck.
He says he didn’t realize he had a winning ticket until hours later when he returned home from his hunt.
That’s when he sat down for a cup of coffee and scratched off his Triple 7’s to reveal his grand prize of $2,000!
He said he went back to the clerk at the Junior Food Mart, where they suggested he sign the back of the ticket and go to Jackson or mail in his ticket to cash it in.
