Wicker Announces Group to Restore Train

Coast leaders are behind the return of Amtrak. Now, our state leaders are one step closer to making it a reality.
Today, Senator Roger Wicker announced a concrete step to bringing the passenger rail service back. According to Wicker, a new group has been formed to study the return of the rail service between New Orleans to Orlando along the Gulf Coast. Federal Railroad administrator Sarah Feinberg says the Federal Railroad Administration will work in the region to put passenger trains back on the tracks in South Mississippi.
Senator Wicker says the rail service could have a monumental impact on the region’s economic development.
