Who is this Carnival Queen?

There is a mystery at the Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum in Biloxi and they need your help to solve it.

Do you know this queen? That is what the museum has been trying to figure out.

This painting was part of the old Mardi Gras Museum years ago, but had no identification with it. They only have one clue: the name of the artist Earle De Vries that’s signed at the bottom of the art.

They found out that De Vries is a woman that taught art in Gulfport and spent her last years in Pass Christian. Coastal Mississippi Mardi Gras Museum Executive Director Tammy Smith said, “We just want any information that anybody has. If they know what krewe it might have been, if they know the approximate year, but we would really like to give a name to this gorgeous face and so we can give her the proper respect that a queen deserves.”

They are offering a reward for anyone who can name the queen and has authentication via a photo or documentation.

If you have any leads into this mystery call the museum at 228-314-4747 or email them at museum@coastalmardigras.com.
